'I will not disappoint' - Oye Lithur

Minister designate for Gender, Children Social Protection Ministry, Nana Oye Lithur has promised not to disappoint Ghanaians in her new role.

She says she acknowledges the high expectations many have concerning her new post.

Nana Oye Lithur is the Chief Executive Director of the Human Rights Advocacy Centre and is a respected Human Rights Lawyer and activist in Ghana.

In an interview with Citi News, she says she is poised to work in her new role.

“I will work very hard to make sure that the people of Ghana and the people within my mandate are able to access the services and enjoy the benefits and facilities they are supposed to enjoy as Ghanaians,” she stated.

“I know the expectations are very high and I cannot afford to not make a difference in the lives of the people so I see myself as coming to serve in all humility and I am very grateful to the President for the confidence he has reposed in me,” she added.

Nana Oye has been involved with the Coordinated African Regional Survey on Access to Information for Ghana, as well as running an access to Justice Program and a Human Rights clinic and coordinating the Coalition on the Freedom of Information Bill in Ghana.
