President John Mahama’s nominee for Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hannah Tetteh says she will work hard to project the image of Ghana around the world.
She made these comments while addressing some journalists in parliament after the Speaker announced the president’s list of nominees for 12 ministries on Friday afternoon.
Ms. Hannah Tetteh who has been touted as one of the hardest working ministers in the NDC administration, was the Minister of Trade and Industry. She is currently the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West in the Central Region.
She said “I am looking forward to going through the whole process of vetting and confirmation by parliament and I will do my best to make sure that the image of Ghana is projected positively everywhere in the world.”
“I think it is a great honour to be nominated to be only the second woman in our history who has become Minister for Foreign Affairs, because to the best of my knowledge, the only woman who has been nominated and appointed as Minister for Foreign Affairs was Madam Gloria Neequaye some decades ago,” she revealed.
She was all praise for the president for the appointment saying “I thank His Excellency President Mahama for the honour that he has done me by nominating me for this position.”
