Mrs Ellen Hagan, the Chief Executive of L’AINE Services Ltd, a human resource organisation in the country, on December 22, 2012, attended this year’s Barcamp which was held at the Methodist University College campus as a “success mentor”.
The event, brought together young Ghanaians and others interested in Ghana for a day of dialogue, which was held on the theme: “Removing the Fear of Failure as a Start of Success.”
As part of L’AINE’s corporate social responsibility to develop the youth, Mrs Hagan, the “success mentor” for the occasion, spoke about failure, explaining that “it is the condition of not being able to achieve the desired end”.
She added that “to be successful in today’s competitive market, learning to overcome your fear of failure should be at the top of your training list”.
Mrs Hagan advised the youth to force themselves into action and not be afraid of taking responsibilities.
Barcamp has held 18 similar events in eight towns in Ghana since 2008.
In a related development, Mrs Ellen Hagan, who is also Marketing Woman of the Year, has entreated all to have integrity in their dealings and be respectful to their fellow man.
This was at the Lister Hospital year–end corporate thanksgiving and carols service in Accra.
The programme, dubbed “Celebrating God’s goodness and His matchless grace,” brought together staff of Lister Hospital and some invited guests.
As the guest speaker, Mrs Hagan spoke on the topic, “My God, my family, and my business” which shed light on her spiritual life, her challenges and successes as a businesswoman, her life as a wife, mother and counsellor, and how she juggles all together.
She said, “If we understand and choose to accept and embrace our purpose and our duty on this earth, we will find the contentment and peace that continue to elude the world.”
She also urged everybody present to discover their purpose, saying that “purpose is the discovery of your reason for existence; without purpose, life is an experiment”.
She indulged all present to a quote in Hebrews 12:12 and asked them to always fix their eyes on Christ; the author and perfecter of their faith.
