Togbe Afede XIV endorses Akufo Addo's free SHS

President of the Volta Regional house of chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV has embraced the free Senior High education campaign by the presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

He told the NPP presidential candidate that his “desire to expand educational opportunities to all and sundry” is “very much welcome”. Togbe Afede was speaking when Nana Akufo Addo called on him at the beginning of his tour of the Volta region.

According to Togbe Afede XIV the surest way to transform Ghana’s resources to benefit its entire people is by getting every Ghanaian educated, and he believes this can be achieved if everybody is afforded the opportunity to get educated. He said access to education will “become the basis for individual and national development”.

The businessman and entrepreneur also praised Nana Akufo Addo’s vision to transform Ghana’s economy through industrial development. According to him this is the best way to create jobs and provide opportunities for all to develop. He believes this move will transform Ghana into a more prosperous country.

“Your commitment to developing the country and expand opportunity is very important”, said Togbe Afede XIV.

He condemned ethnic politics and asked all political parties to conduct a peace campaign to protect the peace of the country.

The NPP presidential candidate told the chiefs of the region that he wants to be the bridge between his party and the people of the Volta region. He lamented the NPP’s poor electoral performance in the region, in the past saying he is counting on the chiefs to embrace his hand of friendship to change the trend.
