Christians asked to deepen faith in God during troubles

Mr Matthew Kesson, a local Preacher at the Saint Paul's Methodist Church at Sekyere-Hemang, has called on Christians to deepen their faith in God in times of adversity to overcome problems in life.

He recalled the examples of Job and Bathimeus in the bible, who exhibited a strong faith during critical moments to turn their life around completely.

Mr Kesson was preaching the sermon on Sunday on the theme: "Jesus opened the eye of the blind through faith” at Sekyere-Hemang in the Wassa-East district of the Western Region.

He said Job continued to worship God in faith in the midst of calamities and Bathimeus cried and insisted to see Jesus Christ to regain his sight.

Mr Kesson said if Christians will continue to make Jesus Christ the center of their life, they will triumph in the face of the storms in life saying it was only through faith backed by good works that one can tap the blessings of God as the early Christians did.

The preacher said in spite of the hatred, malice and persecutions many Christians suffer from the world, goodness will always triumph over evil if they remained steadfast in the Lord.
