Ghana-born Qatari Gets Camel For Goal

Manama: A Qatari has offered a naqa (female camel) to national football player Mohammad Kasola for scoring a late goal that earned Qatar a 2-2 draw which ensured the team qualified for the next round of Asian Qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup.

Hadi Al Jadhna said the unusual gift was in appreciation of the important goal scored by the 26-year-old Ghana-born defender with three minutes of the match with Iran remaining. The goal earned his side the point they needed to qualify ahead of Bahrain.

Bahrain, playing at the same time, needed to beat Indonesia by an eight-goal margin to qualify, provided that Qatar lost to Iran. Bahrain won 10-0 against an Indonesia side that played most of the match with 10 men following the second minute sending-off of their goalkeeper.
