Government reviews curfew in Bawku

Accra, Nov. 4, GNA - The Ministry of the Interior on Wednesday reviewed the curfew period in the Bawku Municipality and its environs. The new curfew regime, which would take effect on Thursday, November 5, begins from 1800 hours to 0600 hours.

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday and signed by Mrs. Zita S. Okaikoi Minister of Information, explained that the relaxation of the curfew period from 1400 hours to 0600 hours was because of the improved security situation in the area

"We also recognise that we are in the harvest season, and a more flexible situation would enable the farmers to harvest their crops," it said. The statement said the security agencies were on high alert and monitoring the situation closely. 4 Nov. 09
