Man remanded for attempted murder

Juaso (Ash), Feb 16, GNA - The Juaso Circuit Court has remanded a 50-year-old man in prison custody for allegedly attempting to murder a woman at Agogo in the Asante-Akim South District. Yaw Pese, whose plea was not taken, will re-appear before the court in two weeks time.

Police Inspector Mike Fritz Bekoe, prosecuting, told the court that on the night of February 11, Pese went to the house of the complainant and knocked at her door but the complainant did not respond. The prosecution said the following day the complainant went to the distillery of the accused to find out why he was looking for her the previous night.

Inspector Bekoe said Pese pulled a locally manufactured single barrel gun and shot her, wounding her in her left breast.
