57 year old man defiles eight-year-old girl

Accra, Aug 30, GNA - A 57-year-old mason who allegedly defiled an eight-year-old pupil was on Wednesday remanded in prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

The accused, Fometsi Sampson Kwadzo, who pleaded not guilty, will re-appear on September 12.

Police Inspector Isaac Ahor told the court that the girl lived with her aunty in the same vicinity with the accused at Fiseh near Amasaman in the Ga East of Greater Accra Region. Inspector Ahor said in August this year, the girl was returning from school at about 1530 hours when the accused lured her to a nearby bush and had sex with her.

The court heard that the girl kept the ordeal to herself and started losing weight and that her walking changed, adding that her aunty later detected that her genitalia had swollen and when she questioned her, she told her of the ordeal. A report was made to the Police and a medical form was issued to the victim for treatment.
