10 billion cedis church building for Deeper Life

Tema, Aug. 28, GNA - Pastor James Kofi Abbrey, the National Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Ghana said the church exists basically for the development of the spiritual inner being of its members.

Pastor Abbrey, who cut the sod for the construction of the church building project at Tema at the cost of 10 billion cedis also launched a series of the church's community based projects at the weekend. In his address, Pastor Abbrey said the basic identifying factor for the church is the ability to transform the moral lives of its members so that they could conform to the stainlessness of God and the laws of society.

He further said that the church was a social entity and could not in anyway shy away from its social obligations towards the community in which it dwelt and from which it drew its audience. Pastor Abbrey said the Deeper Life Bible Church since its establishment in 1979 in Ghana, had taken to evangelisation of the various towns, cities and even villages, where it operated.

In spite of their concentration of the preaching of the gospel, the church had not shinned away from their responsibilities towards the society and that the Women Ministry of the church at Tema was to establish a bakery at Tema Community Seven by the end of December this year, to provide employment for females in the municipality.

The Women's Wing of the church had further decided to set up a counselling and rehabilitation centre to be headed by a child psychologist and an educationist for young mothers and school dropouts,

Pastor Abbrey stated. He said the Youth Wing was also launching their Career Vocational Guidance Centre at the premises of the church, at Community One, which would be operational in December this year, and to provide both academic and vocational training to the youth in the community.
