The Country Director for the World Bank Group (WBG), Pierre Frank Laporte has said, his outfit is keen to embark on a Country Partnership Framework (CPF), which will concentrate on projects that have a wider impact on Ghana.

According to him, the CPF, which is expected to come into effect in July 2020, is underpinned by an evidence-based system that will support the country’s development goals.

“The World Bank Country Partnership Framework which we’re currently about to embark for Ghana this year sets out the medium-term agenda for the group's support for the entire country. The CPF guides the groups country programs and gauges the effectiveness of the projects to boost sheer prosperity in a sustainable manner,” he explained.

Mr Laporte speaking at the launch of the Results Fair organised by the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation in Accra on Tuesday, January 14 reiterated the World Bank’s commitment to partner with the government of Ghana to achieve its developmental goal.

The Fair was under the theme; Delivering results for our citizens: A Work in progress" and will take place from January 14-16, 2020 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Country Partnership Framework

The Country Partnership Framework by the World Bank Group is expected to support governments priority projects, build upon the WBG’s past engagement, and reflect on analysis from the Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD).

The CPF however, is expected to come into force at the beginning of the World Bank’s next 3-year International Development Association (IDA), World Bank’s financing cycle with a view to covering the next six years, and two IDA financing cycles.
