Television Media Rights owners of the Ghana Premier League, StarTimes Ghana says they have invested heavily to develop the league to international standards.

The Chinese pay-television company earned the right to become the authorized broadcast rights holders for the Ghana Premier League after it signed a 5-year deal worth $1,050,000 annually with the Ghana FA.

The company were the media right holders for the previous Ghana Premier League season until the Anas Number 12 documentary brought football to a halt.

StarTimes have managed to broker a deal with the Ghana FA and have promised to put the Ghanaian League on international spotlight.

Speaking at a short briefing held at the company's head office in Accra, Head of Marketing Department, Akorfa Banson confirmed that their firm will add quality to this season’s coverage of the Ghana Premier League.

“StarTimes has invested heavily in the latest sports broadcast solutions or software in order to bring the quality of our productions as well as the image of the Ghana Premier League to international standards. This will include detailed statistics, comprehensive sports analysis, virtual advertising, augmented reality, 3D Graphics, Virtual Live Presenter,” Akofa Banson said.

Akorfa further added that StarTimes is the only broadcaster in West Africa that has software which is able to give comprehensive analysis during matches.
