The personal secretary of Atebubumanhene Mr. Owusu Boye Antwi has refuted claims that, they have cursed the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area Hon. Sanja Nanja for calling the Queen-mother of area a 'drunkard'.

The Chiefs and people of Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo last Friday slaughtered a sheep calling on the gods in the area to formally inform them of the matter.

Hon. Sanja Nanja granting an interview to an Accra based radio station insulted the Queen-mother of Atebubu Traditional Council, Nana Afia Donyina and called her a drunkard who was intoxicated and making reckless comments against him.

Following his comments, the Traditional Council banned him from attending any event organised by the Traditional Council and also from entering into the Atebubumanhene's Palace.

A delegation led by the Queen-mother of Sunyani Nana Yaa Nyamaa were prevented from apologising on the MPs behalf by an aggrieved youth in the area last week.

Nana Owusu Achew Brempong Atebubumanhene, led the ritual last Friday to officially inform their gods and vowed not let sleeping dogs lie until justice is served.

"We have not invoked curses on Hon. Sanja Nanja, we only slaughtered the sheep to signify our anger and to officially inform our gods at the disrespectful comments made by the MP against our Queen-mother."
