Ho (Volta Region), 30 Nov. '98 The Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation is to increase its revenue by 11 billion cedis next year by installing 40,000 more meters for consumers.

Mr Charles Adjei, managing director of the corporation who announced this at a staff durbar at Ho over the weekend said the corporation has been able to provide meters for only 110,000 out of its 210,000 consumers in the country.

He said the corporation is working towards providing materials for new service licences as a way of eliminating illegal connections and loss of revenue.

Mr Adjei noted that the corporation has a large market which it must manage, saying "water is the only product which is used by everybody.

He therefore called on staff and management to co-operate in charting a new and positive vision for the corporation.

Mr Adjei said management will do its best to meet its obligations to staff and provide additional incentives as conditions for demanding efficiency and increased output from them.

He said the new vision of the corporation should be based on diligence, positive work ethics and good interpersonal relations.
