Two persons fined for stealing

Techiman (B/A), Dec.31, GNA- Two persons Solomon Twumasi, 26 and Michael Bio, 31, on Friday, were on Friday fined 600,000 cedis each for conspiracy and attempting to steal two erected electricity wooden poles They would each go to prison for six months in default. They pleaded guilty.

Police Chief Inspector Comfort Nyamasah, told the court that on December 17 this year, at about 61830 hours, the Unit Committee Secretary, Mr Kwabena Aboagye Oduro with the help of others arrested Twumasi and Bio trying to pull down two erected electric poles.

The prosecution said during interrogation the accused persons admitted the offence, saying that they were engaged by someone, whose name they did not mention to steal the 2 poles for a fee of 500,000 cedis.
