Threats of doctors becoming too much – Bature

Editor of the Al-HaJJ Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu says doctors must advise themselves on the excessive threats to get government to respond to every need of theirs.

Such acts he says “throw the system into disarray.”

He warned that the continuing drama on the Condition of Service of the Ghana Medical Association can impact negatively on productivity levels.

Every other public service worker will eventually learn to get government’s attention with such threats, putting the economy in shambles, Bature argues.

Commenting on the development of Doctors’ conditions of service on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.3 FM he said:

“There must always be a balance in whatever we do. This is getting too much.

“They speak with threats; they speak more or less like politicians.”

Doctors and the Union of Health Service Workers reportedly spurned a framework document presented in a meeting by the Health Ministry.

The meeting was for them to sign a draft framework that spells out conditions of services for the health sector.

The GMA and Health Workers have been demanding better conditions of service since January 2015.
