Strategy to win election for Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP

My inner mind has revealed to me how the following strategy can garner more parliamentary seats and winning votes for NPP and Nana Akuffo-Addo respectively, come December 7, 2012. In the event of the Rawlingses forming a new party which they will surely do, it will enhance the chances of the NPP and Nana Akuffo-Addo winning the elections hands down provided we stick to sound strategies of which, the following cannot be overlooked.

The Rawlingses are perpetually peeved as President Mills and the NDC continually flout the principles of - accountability, probity and transparency - the pivotal ideals on which, the NDC was founded, revolved and should revolve.

It suddenly occurred to me in what could be attributed to the dictation by the subconscious mind that the strategy I am about to divulge will play immensely in the NPP’s favour if we can adhere to it. The subconscious mind is dictating what we have to do at this crucial moment to wrestle power from the most corrupt, incompetent, lawless and insulting government ever observed in the annals of Ghanaian politics.

The Rawlingses have their die-hards among the NDC. They have some of their supporters and sympathisers highly concentrated in certain parts of Ghana or some strongholds of the NDC. When they do form their party as alleged or surely expected, nominate their presidential and parliamentary candidates, they stand the chance of splitting up the NDC votes in some of the NDC strongholds. They may not stand any greater chance concluding from how the followers of President Mills within the NDC have maligned them. However, their ability to reduce the votes going to President Mills and the current NDC party no matter how insignificant it is can help and be a sign of hope or relief to the NPP.

Have those of us living in the UK forgotten the Motto of the giant supermarket TESCO – “Every little helps?” With this motto in mind, the Management of Tesco keeps opening up branches of the shop in any little corner of the towns and cities as they lay hands on with the aim of maximising their net profit gains no matter how little they get from any shop.

Now here goes the strategy. We have to note that the recent past Attorney General, Honourable Martin Amidu, has endeared himself to Ghanaians at the emergence of the scandalous judgment debt payment to Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome. His honest attempts to compel Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome to pay back what he, Woyome, has fraudulently taken from the State leading to his (Mr Martin Amidu) dismissal from the NDC government, has made him a hero in the eyes of many a discerning Ghanaian. This is a fact that nobody can downplay.

Since Mr Martin Amidu is admittedly a die-hard supporter of the NDC with stringent adherence to the ideals of the three cornerstones – Accountability, Probity and Transparency – of the June 4, 1979 revolution, he may go with the Rawlingses. When he does partner with the Rawlingses in the formation of a new political party or movement as say their Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate, it will give that party a bit of credibility in the eyes of Ghanaians. Martin Amidu like Nana Akuffo-Addo has shown to the public how much he cares about ridding Ghana of official government corruption to help move the country forward even at the cost of his job and life. Having said his, I will advise my fellow NPP supporters to stick with Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP.

The strategy for diluting the successes of the current President Mills’ repulsively corrupt NDC government and party as revealed to me by my inner voice is as follows: The NPP must wisely have some level of interaction with any newly formed or would-be-formed political party by the Rawlingses and agreed on the underlined principle of reciprocity. When the Rawlingses field a parliamentary candidate in any of the NDC strongholds where underground observatory work conducted by the NPP still indicates that the NPP cannot win those seats regardless of any inputs, do the following. i) Withdraw the NPP parliamentary candidate ii) advise all those in that constituency who would otherwise have voted for the NPP to vote the candidate of the Rawlingses for the seat. Prior to initiating the suggested plan, the NPP should investigate if their support for the Rawlingses’ candidates can win those candidates the seats. The NPP should simply vote skirt and blouse in such constituencies where they lend support to the Rawlingses’ candidates. What do I mean by this, one may wish to know? It means while the NPP voters cast their parliamentary votes for the Rawlingses’ candidates in those spelt out areas, their presidential votes should go to Nana Akuffo-Addo at all times. The Rawlingses on the other hand must advise their supporters to vote NPP in both the NDC and NPP strongholds where they, the Rawlingses’ candidates feel too feeble to win any appreciative votes.

Winning elections is all about strategy, honesty to fulfil promises made to the best of one’s ability, and readiness to be of service to, and at the service of, the citizenry. It is not about the utterances of persuasive but utterly deceitfully non achievable electioneering promises as were made by the now incompetently corrupt, lawless and non-performing President Mills’ NDC government.

The more the would-be Rawlingses’ new party can be assisted to split the total votes going to the current NDC party and government, much the better it is for the NPP winning the overall majority seats in parliament. Secondly we will stand the perfect chance of winning any run-off between Nana Akuffo-Addo and President Mills in the event of Nana failing to clench power in the 1st round on December 7, 2012. The Rawlingses must assure the NPP of reciprocity when they are assisted in the way as spelt above. Nevertheless, we aim at winning a resounding victory for Nana Akuffo-Addo in the 1st round of the December 7, 2012 elections.

The above move is not in my ambit to decide on or implement. It is up to the top brass of the NPP to look out for any signs of wisdom in my suggestion, thus, the merits and the demerits. The Rawlingses are genuinely seeking the downfall of President Mills’ NDC because of how the administration is awash in gargantuan corruption, embezzlement, incompetence and lawlessness.

Any little useful idea you may have must please be passed on or published as it can help, a lesson learnt from the Tesco’s. I stand for exploiting any genuine means that can enhance our chances of wrestling power from the NDC. The current NDC administration and party have money to bribe electorates in attempt to buy their votes. We should not be scared provided we can visit the prospective electorates with the convincing message from the camp of Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP, the very objective of my upcoming VENUS movement.
