Statesman Story Untrue

Samia Yaba Nkrumah, the Samia Campaign Team and the Executive Committee of the CPP in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region wish to make known our strong indignation to an allegation and false impression created by a publication in the Statesman newspaper of October 16, 2008 claiming that Samia was campaigning for the flagbearer of the NPP.

Not only is this impression erroneous, it is even more mischievous and ill motivated to create animosity within the rank and file of the CPP. We wish to state categorically clear that Party Discipline is an integral part of the being of Samia Nkrumah. Her respect for the supremacy of the party made her insist on having primaries even when some members of the constituency demanded that she be declared candidate unopposed when there were other contenders for the Parliamentary slot on the ticket of the CPP.

If there are any persons who think that by spewing such unstable and frivilous propaganda, the teaming support of the CPP will reduce in Jomoro, then they should be leaving in their own world of conjecturing.

The campaign is on! We remain resolute in winning the Jomoro seat which is traditionally ours. There is no intent whatsoever to shift to any other party. We need to say though that the support Samia enjoys in Jomoro cuts across the political divide. The constituents everywhere chant “Samia for Jomoro and Jomoro for Samia”. We have eaten into the hearts of the NPP and NDC; no propaganda can change that. We know there is victory for us!

As we move through Kengen, Twenen, Beiyin, Ndekazo, Tikobo, Mangia, Half Assini, New Kabenlasuazo etc; the clarion call is “Welcome mother Yaba, stay with us and fight with us to better the lives of our people. Surely this call will be answered come January 7, 2009 when the MP for Jomoro shall be sworn in as Hon Samia Yaba Nkrumah.
