Sprite Ball Competition moves to Western Region

Accra, Nov. 25, GNA - The qualifiers of the 2010 Sprite Ball Championship enters the Western Region on Friday, November 26, with 15 second cycle schools vying for a slot in the finals of the national basketball championship in Accra, next month. The event fixed for the Ghana Secondary Technical School, (GSTS) sports grounds, will see the host competing against Fijai Senior High School (SHS), Ahantaman SHS, Takoradi SHS, St John's SHS , Bompeh SHS and Adiembra SHS, Asankaragua SHS, Arch-Bishop Porter Girls School competing for honours. According to the organizers of the event, Rite MultiMedia, the winner and runners up of both the male and female competitions will represent the region at the national championship.

The winners of both the male and female categories of the competition, will in addition take home 250.00GHC, whilst the second and third place teams take home, 200.00 and 150GHC respectively. The competition will move to the Central Region next week in search of representatives of the region ahead of the national event. The competition is under the sponsorship of Sprite, Indomie Instant Noodles and DDP Outdoor with TV Africa, Graphic Sports, Today Newspaper and Ghana Sports as the media partners. 25 Nov. 10
