Security Voting: Exit polls put Mahama @70%

History certainly has a very fine way of repeating itself and history is, indeed, repeating itself.

Yesterday, Tuesday, 4 December 2012, is another day that landed on the bad side of Nana Akufo-Addo rather unimpressive political record.

Most certainly yesterday will go down in history as another day that saw the security services voting massively for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Dramani Mahama.

Just as it happened in 2008, when the Security Services voted massively for Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the men and women in uniform, have, once again reposed massive confidence in the NDC administration.

Even though officially, the votes have not been counted, The Informer can report on authority that, President John Mahama has bagged about 69% of the valid votes cast.

Just as it happened in the United States, Britain and some other countries, the Exit Polls yesterday showed that majority of the votes went in the direction of President John Mahama.

The Informer’s roving reporters, who interviewed scores of Military personnel; Fire Service personal; Immigration Personnel; CEPS Personnel; Prisons Officers; returned that 7 out 10 had voted for President Mahama. In the case of the Police, the number seemed a bit higher.

From what The Informer gathered, President Mahama is raging between 75%-77 among the police service.

As the Chairman of the Ghana Police Council and the Armed Forces Council, when a Vice President, President John Mahama seems to have a lot of admirers within the services.

Of course, the men/ women in uniform cannot forget what President Atta Mills did for them in terms of salaries/allowances/ conditions of service and they are paying him back in good measure.

‘In 2008, I remember Professor Mills promising that if we vote for him, he will not turn his back on us. We voted for him and he did not turn his back on us, so it will be a sin not to vote for the NDC if even he is no more the leader of the party,” a Military Police Officer has told The Informer.

The security personnel did not only vote for President Mahama, they voted with a lot of joy in their hearts, knowing that they are taking a bold decision which will ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo and his ‘wee’-choked militants do not have the opportunity to destroy the good work that President Mills had done.

Indeed, a number of them who are tired of the misconduct of the NPP hirelings believe that, once Akufo-Addo loses and the NPP changes him as the party’s leader, a lot of the nonsense will come to an end.

Nana is a bad influence on the youth of the NPP and are sick and tired of his style of leadership, that is why we are voting massively against him so he can get off the scene and leave the nation in peace,” a female police sergeant opined.
