SIC gives GHC 80,000 to SWAG

SIC Insurance Company Limited, headline sponsors of the "2015 SIC Nyemitei SWAG Cup Match" has announced a sponsorship package of GHC 80,000 for the revived annual competition.

Mr. KweiMensah Ashiedam, Ag. Managing Director of the insurance giants said it was refreshing for his outfit to rekindle their relationship with SWAG, years after it ended.

This was announced at the grand launch of the "2015 SIC Nyemitei SWAG Cup" at the head office of SIC in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

He said SIC deems the relationship between it and SWAG as one its biggest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives.

"I deem it a great pleasure to witness the revived relationship which was started 17 years ago," He added.

According to KweiMensah, the company finds nothing more suitable and preferable that unites Ghanaians and assist the development of the youth than extending their support in the arena of football.

"Football, as we all know, is the passion of the nation. It unifies Ghanaians with difficult cultural, social and political orientation.

"It has over the years address issues of youth development and there is no doubt progress has been made. We can attest to the sterling performance of the various national teams and the Black Stars in the last three World Cups." He stated.

He called on SWAG and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to collaborate with Ghana's insurance giants to offer insurance protection to sportsmen and women.

Kwabena Yeboah, President of SWAG expressed appreciation to the insurance company for their decision to revive the SWAG Cup Match.

He said SWAG will ensure a successful organization of the event and assured all that, the two teams will give spectators the needed excitement.
