Information reaching MyNewsGH.com from credible sources indicates that the woes of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr. Benjamin Agordzo is far from over as the Ghana Police Service has already taken a decision to interdict him.

ACP Dr. Agordzo who is standing trial for alleged treason based on a WhatsApp message he allegedly post in a platform has garnered massive public support since news of his detention by the Bureau of National Investigation broke.

It now appears his own police service are about to worsen his woes.

“The decision on his interdiction has been taken already, that I can confirm to you. It is standard practice in such cases. The case is very serious”, the source said.

MyNewsGH.com gathered that the only reason the interdiction is not public yet is because the police top hierarchy wants to communicate it to him officially and also about its timing.

Already, MyNewsGH.com gathered that morale is low among the rank and file of junior and some senior police officers who fear what is happening to the usually ‘outspoken’ Agordzo could happen to any of them at any time without any form of solidarity from the Ghana Police Service.

BNI cautioned

Security Analyst, Colonel Festus Aboagye (retd) urged the state to be cautious about how it handles ACP Dr Benjamin Agordzo.

He reminded the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) that the allegation against the Dr Agordzo does not mean he is complicit.

He explained that the fact that Dr Agordzo’s messages has appeared in communication on a WhatsApp platform does not mean he is guilty of the charges.

“I argue as indeed the council is saying that the mere invitation by itself and the charges of abetment are not even met,” he said on Joy News TV.

He explained that the BNI may be wrong with the claims as a number of cases he has witnessed has proven.
