Outdoor your manifestos - David Agbee urges political parties

Pressure is being mounted on political parties especially, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to outdoor their manifestoes ahead of the November 7 polls.

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Institute of Governance and Security, David Agbee, has said the failure of these parties to make their manifesto known to the electorates six months into the November 7 elections is worrying, given that the electorates will need to scrutinize thoroughly their manifestoes before deciding on who to vote for.

He told Ekourba Gyasi, host of TOP FM’s morning show on Thursday that “Ghanaians will need to know the energy policies of these parties, they will also need to know their policies on infrastructure and agriculture.”

All these, he said, will be catalogued in the manifestoes but Ghanaians do not know simply because the parties have not outdoored their manifestos.

“If citizens are to vote for you they will need to know the policies that you have for them and scrutinize those policies but as we speak we have not seen the manifestoes of the NPP and the NDC as well as the CPP,” he said.
“We need to know,” he told host Ekourba Gyasi.

He has, therefore, asked the two leading parties to as a matter of urgency make their manifestoes public.
