Only Fools And Criminals Can Be Neutral To NDC Misrule, Twum-Boafo

It is rather irresponsible for the bloody, pathologically corrupt and criminal operatives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to expect respectable thinkers and clerics like Drs. Emmanuel Asante, Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle, Mensa Otabil and Emmanuel Martey, among quite a number of others, to remain neutral and nonchalant while the Mahama government literally runs our beloved and one Ghana aground (See "'NPP Pastors' Should Admit Their Partiality - Twum-Boafo" Graphic.com.gh 7/28/15). The last time the young butterball presuming to sarcastically call out these most revered Ghanaian clerics made the banner news headlines, Mr. Kwadwo Twum-Boafo had reportedly beaten up and pistol-whipped his officially assigned chauffeur over a very petty squabble that could have been quietly and amically resolved.

Actually, the incident was not petty at all for, as I vividly recall, Mr. Twum-Boafo, the so-called Executive-Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board, had reportedly physically assaulted a woman old enough to be his mother. One has to wonder how savages like this political parasite got to hold such position of great responsibility and a fat paycheck. Then also, which respectable Ghanaian religious leader would want to be situated on the same ideological wave-length with such an unconscionable thug? Then again, who said Mr. Twum-Boafo and NDC-sponging media hacks like Mr. Kwesi Pratt have the right to demand that the aforementioned clerics publicly declare their ideological or party affiliation to anybody?

There is absolutely no pretense here; the fact of the matter is that every thoughtful Ghanaian knows that forthright and progressive religious leaders like Pastor Mensa Otabil and Rt.-Rev. Martey have no patience for grossly incompetent politicians like President John Dramani Mahama and praise-singing hangers-on like Mr. Twum-Boafo. We must also highlight the fact that even Jesus Christ of Nazareth pontifically preached against the morally untenable politics of neutrality.

Which was why it simply came as a matter of course to serious students of Ghanaian politics like me, when Mr. Twum-Boafo, reportedly, wrote to the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, some three years ago, to resign his membership, almost as if anybody, besides his own immediate family, really cared. Well, Mr. Twum-Boafo needs to be told pointedly and frontally that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana is no hive or hiding place for arrant fools and congenital criminal like himself.

We must also promptly add that attempting to libel the Chairman of the National Peace council will not work. For the Most-Reverend Emmanuel Asante has publicly and unmistakably indicated that he cannot be intimidated by fleering fools like Mr. Twum-Boafo. Rev. Asante has already boldly riposted that like the indisputable and veritable "Prince-of-Peace" that he is, had he been in the country on July 9, when the peace-brokers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), reportedly, met at the residence of former President John Agyekum-Kufuor, he would not have hesitated to join cause with his peers.

Mischievously attempting to shift the media spotlight from the criminally under-performing Mahama/Amissah-Arthur government will not work. In fact, it actually vindicates those of us who have been working hard around the clock to get the blood-dripping NDC occupying force out of the way come December 2016. I also want to highlight at this time to the leaders and frontline operatives of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, the need to assiduously and harmoniously work towards returning Ghana to good and constructive governance come January 2017.

Even more significant, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party ought to take more active and progressive control of the affairs of the country's largest and most democratic political party. Indeed, we cannot afford to suffer another four years of Messrs. Mark Owen "Violence-Begets-Violence" Woyongo, Samuel "Chalk" Okudzeto-Ablakwa and the scatology-spewing Dr. Edward "Ask Police Investigators" Omane-Boamah.
