NPP wants to take the Nation for a jolly ride – Asiedu Nketia

The ruling NDC’s General Secretary says the main opposition NPP’s Flagbearer and his two co-petitioners in the election fraud case are only bent on taking the country for a ride.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia told XYZ News after Tuesday’s Supreme Court hearing on three different applications that the opposition leader and his legal team have mired their own petition in a confusing labyrinth of concocted figures about the number of polling stations they allege rigging occurred.

The Petitioners at the last sitting applied to amend their initial petition saying further evidence shows rigging took place in almost 12,000 polling stations rather than the initial 4,700.

At Tuesday’s hearing, the Supreme Court unanimously granted a request by the Respondents to be given further and better particulars of those polling stations.

The Court also unanimously ruled that the Electoral Commission provides the Petitioners all details and particulars regarding registered Ghanaians in the Diaspora who voted in the 2012 elections.

Speaking to XYZ News, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the court ruling opens the way for interesting details to emerge.

But the NPP’s Deputy Communications Director, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah on the other hand told XYZ News that the petitioners never confused the figures as claimed by the NDC General Secretary.
