NCS Shutdown: Quaynor-Jonah Feud Not The Cause

The Board Chairman of Network Computer Services, Dr. Quarynor has dismissed media reports that the ejection of his company from it's current premises is as a result of differences between him and Chief Executive of AGC, Dr Sam Jonah.

NCS which is Ghana's first and most prominent internet service provider has been grounded in the last weeks by a dispute over its premises. The disruption has vastly affected several companies in Ghana including the Ghana News Agency which relied heavily on NCS for the distribution of news.

But Dr Quaynor denied suggestions that his company was paying for a feud between himself and Dr Sam Jonah, chief executive of Ashanti Goldfields. Dr Quaynor said "it is ironical when NCS is preparing to celebrate 10 years of Internet connectivity in Ghana it is faced with such a challenge. We are using our expertise to protect the interest of our clients''.

He said under no circumstance could anyone interfere with its work. ''We have a situation and we are doing what we can. We have expertise, which is being applied to protect the interest of the customer irrespective of its impact on the company. If anyone is entertaining sabotage I think we’ll leave them to their lot but we have unique expertise, which is unique. I dare anybody who will want to interfere with our work to try it. Nobody has the expertise to tamper with our transmitions''

The premises of NCS have been sealed off since the 26th of last month following a tenancy dispute with its landlord the action has affected the Ghana News Agency and various bodies relying on its service and users of the GH domain. But Ghana’s largest Internet service provider, NCS, says its relocation from Ridge has not affected services to its clients.
