Medeama SC has sent a delegation to Cairo for tomorrow’s CAF Confederations Cup Group stages draw.

The Mauves are Ghana’s sole representative in Africa having progressed to the money zone of the continental competition after eliminating South African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Ghana FA Cup and Super Cup Champions advanced to the group stages on the away goal rule after defeating their counterparts 2-0 in the second leg match having suffered a 3-1 defeat in their earlier encounter in South Africa.

The Club will hence be making their first appearance at the Money zone after missing out narrowly three years ago when they lost on penalties to Congolese outfit AC Leopards at the play-offs round.

The team has however sent a three-man contingent to observe proceedings in tomorrow’s draw.

Board member Dr Tuffour Kwarteng, deputy Communication director Patrick Akoto and CEO James Esslifie all departed for the North Africa country on Monday for the draw.

Medeama will be hoping to make an impact in the Group stages having had an excellent campaign so far.
