MFI Group and Kyocera Document Solutions have developed a product dubbed “Managed Document Solutions (MDS)” to help organisations reduce their consumption of paper.

Altaf Lalani, MFI Managing Director for West and North Africa said: “In today’s environment where all businesses are looking at how they can cut costs, we feel our solutions will offer organisations avenues to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and also boost employees’ productivity”.

MDS is a process designed to optimise the document output of an organisation. It is a holistic approach that enables businesses to find areas where they can reduce about 30 percent of their cost of operation.

Commenting on the product, Alex Yao Attachey, Strategic Business Unit Head-MFI said: “Companies normally do not look at the area of printing when it comes to saving cost, but it actually affects their budgeting. What we do is come to your company and assess your printing and copying needs, and provide you with the required systems you need.

“We also put in some controls and tracking that will help you check the amount of paper each worker uses. We believe that companies can use the amount they save to channel into other important expenditure of the business,” he said.

MFI Document solutions is an amalgamation of Document Imaging Systems, Specialised printing solutions and various document monitoring, as well as accounting software across Africa.

The company offers a broad spectrum of services including Office document imaging such as print, copy, colour scan, fax, archive and retrieve, and outsourcing (Managed Document), by integrating smart MFP technologies seamlessly to customers network.

MFI Group was founded in 1984 and has since progressed to become an industry leader in document imaging and technology solutions. It operates in 20 countries covering two continents, and has over 6,000 customers.

Kyocera Document Solutions also manufactures and supplies monochrome and colour printers, multifunctional products, wide format systems, and parts and supplies.
