Legon Mall Authorities tight-lipped about death of building constructor

It was a solemn moment at the Legon Mall this afternoon when the Ghanaweb news team arrived at the scene where a man believed to be in his late 30s plunged to his death.

The deceased, who is reportedly the foreman of the Legon Mall project, fell from the 5th floor of an uncompleted extension of the Mall.

Some labourers, obviously distraught by the tragic accident, were seated in deep silence refusing to talk to the media while others who could not control their tears wailed uncontrollably at the demise of their colleague.

A follow-up on the story revealed that the misfortune involved a total of seven labourers who slipped from the scaffolds while casting concrete from the fifth floor of the building sustaining various degrees of injuries.

The deceased popularly referred to as ‘Fabulous’ unfortunately died on the spot while the other six workers were rushed to the Legon Hospital for medical attention.

Management have, however, remained silent on the incident after an attempt by www.ghanaweb.com to probe further.

Security personnel, however, blamed the accident on negligence advising others to take precaution to prevent similar hazards on the field.
