Kufuor in Germany to support stars

Berlin, Germany (GHP) -- President John Agyekum Kufuor has arrived here to witness Ghana's first ever world cup match against Italy in Hannover this evening. He will be the first visiting Head of State to witness a group match at the ongoing world cup.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was expected to attend Iran's first game, but cancelled and was replaced by the Vice-President.

He paid a courtesy call on the Federal German President Herr Horst Kohler at his residence yesterday Monday June 12, 2006. He signed a visitors' book and held bilateral talks with his host behind closed doors.

Presidet Kufuor left Accra for London, on May 31, to deliver the keynote address at the FCC Cocoa Diner. From there he travelled to the United States (US) on a private visit.

He is expected back home on June 16.
