Kevin-Prince Boateng to sign new Las Palmas deal next week

Kevin-Prince Boateng will sign a new deal with La Liga side UD Las Palmas next week, the club’s president has revealed.

Though Miguel Ángel Ramírez refused to give extra details in an interview with Radio Marca, the club’s official radio station has announced a three-year contract extension.

“Kevin-Prince Boateng will continue at UD Las Palmas. There is a total and absolute agreement and will be signed next week,” said the president of the yellow entity in Radio Marca on Friday.

But the director of UD Radio, Ruymán Almeida, said that the yellow entity “will continue to enjoy three more years” of the suspended Ghana international’s services.

With rumours of Valencia’s interest still lingering, the Las Palmas president reiterated: “Boateng is going to continue at UD Las Palmas, but I do not know why nobody believes it.”

The 30-year-old arrived on a one-year deal with an option to extend, but with his stats so far, the club has been convinced to hand him a new contract until 2020. He has raked up 10 goals and three assists in 26 games since arriving in the summer of 2016.

According to some reports, Boateng’s agent, Edoardo Crnjar, was last Tuesday in Valencia and met with representatives of the club to negotiate a possible transfer, but has returned to accept the Canary Islands side’s offer.
