The flagbearer of the Conventions Peoples Party (CPP) , Ivor Greenstreet, has promised to revamp the neglected Tarkwa Gold Refinery if he becomes president.

Addressing traders at the main lorry station at Tarkwa on Friday as part of the CPP’s campaign tour, Mr Greenstreet said Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah completed about 95% of the gold refinery in Tarkwa but one of his predecessors has made that vision a reality.

“That is why we sit on gold here in Tarkwa, yet others are rather using it to develop their countries”, he said.

He added that a CPP government with him as president will ensure that Tarkwa gets a gold refinery which will boost job creation .

He pleaded with the residents of Tarkwa to vote massively for him as the president and his parliamentary candidate.

Meanwhile, in the absence of the usual party faithful dressed in party paraphernalia following the party flagbearers around, market women at the Tarkwa lorry Station took the microphone from the flag bearer and pledged to vote for him.

The CPP campaign tour in the western region is taking the flag bearer to Bogoso, Enchi, Debiso, Akontombra, Sefwi-Wiawso, and the Bia East and West constituencies.
