Italian clubs jostle for Asmah's signature

Patrick Asmah Patrick Asmah

Ghana National Under 20 defender Patrick Asmah will sign for an Italian club in January to begin his professional football.

It is reported that several Italian clubs have expressed interest in the BA United left back through Ghanaian agent Oliver Arthur but Palermo, Bologna and Serie B side Cagliari are leading the race for his signature.

Asmah, 19, was part of the Ghana Black Satellites team which reached the second round of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand this year.

He was also the main man in a poor BA United team just this ended season.

The player has been having problems with the BA United management since the sacking of his personal manager Roy Arthur as CEO of the club and he is bent on leaving the side following their relegation to the first division.

Asmah has also been linked to several Turkish clubs as well as Ghanaian side’s Inter Allies, Ashgold and Kotoko
