I’m now struggling to build a house – Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has said he never gained financially in his three and a half years of serving as the Director of Communications at the Presidency under late President Atta Mills.

According to him, his primary objective of working in that high office of the land was to render dedicated service to the state and the late President, and not for personal gains.

Koku served as the mouthpiece of the Presidency from 2009 till in July 2012 when the late President died while in office. Koku who was a close ally of ex Prez Mills was regarded as a very powerful man who was very protective of the late President.

It was rumoured that Koku being a trusted friend of the late President and having a strong grip on the Presidency while he was in office, made a lot of wealth but he’s dismissed those suggestions.

Speaking on Starr FM, Koku Anyidoho stated that he left the Presidency with a clear conscience that he was not involved in any financial malfeasance, having learnt a lot from President Mills incorruptible nature.

He added that contrary to allegations about him, he’s now struggling to build a house.

“A number of times people who had led investors to come and see President Mills at the Castle wanted me to help them make money from the investors but I turned such moves down. So when he passed on, people actually laughed at me saying, we told you that we should do business stopped us…now President Mills is gone, how much money have you made in your years of working closely with the President.”
