Government to seek out-of-court settlement of injunction

Nkonya (V/R), June 16, GNA - Government is to seek an out-of-court settlement to the injunction placed on the inauguration of the new Biakoye District Assembly, Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minister, has said.

Speaking during a day's working visit to the Assembly on Monday he called for mutual agreement among traditional areas constituting the new assembly to pave the way for its development. Mr Amenowode said he was hopeful that an amicable solution would soon be reached for the area to get its share of development. He said he was unhappy that staffs posted to the assembly were not reporting to work.

Out of a staff of six personnel, only Mr Gershon Gley, Acting District Co-ordinating Director, reported to work on Monday morning when the Regional Minister visited. Mr Gley said the other staff members were not reporting for work because of the injunction placed on the assembly.
