Ghanaian Medical Practitioners elected to Commonwealth Medical Body

Accra, Nov. 23, GNA - Two Ghanaian Medical Practitioners have been elected to the Executive Council of Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA) during its 22nd Triennial Conference held in Tal-Qroqq, Malta.

A statement issued in Accra by Dr Sodzi Sodzi-Tettey, General Secretary of Ghana Medical Association (GMA) said Dr Kwabena Opoku-Adusei, Vice President of GMA, was elected Vice President for the West African Region, while Dr Oheneba Owusu-Danso was re-elected General Secretary of CMA for a second three year term.

The conference held from November 10-14, on the theme: "Management of Infectious Diseases; Challenges and Prospect," was attended by representatives from 15 Commonwealth countries. The election brought to an end the tenure of Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, Immediate Past President of CMA.
