"Fraudulent" Woyome scandal would never happen under me – Nana Addo

The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has waged into the controversial GH¢ 51 million judgment debt payment to embattled businessman Alfred Woyome, saying, such a scandal would never have happened under his presidency.

Nana Akufo Addo, during a tour to some beach sites in the Greater Accra region on Thursday said, an NPP government under his leadership would have been more meticulous to ensure that the “fraudulent” payment never occurred.

“Woyome could never happen under an Akufo-Addo presidency, it can never happen and it would never happen.

“So I am pleading with you that you vote for me so that I become the next president of this country,” Nana Addo told the fisher folk in Ga.

Nana Addo in an interaction with the fisher folk to familiarise with their concerns assured them that, if elected as president, his government will do all it can to ensure that, their needs are catered for.

He also reiterated his promise to reinstate the Fisheries Ministry when voted into power.**
