F.Vikings Brush Aside Accra Academy

FADAMA VIKINGS Basketball Academy in Accra white-washed their rivals, Accra Academy, in a friendly encounter by a total of 66-22 points at the International Central Gospel Church basketball court at Abossey Okai in Accra. The Vikings who started the game with their team B players managed to brush off the Accra Aca boys who did not have any remedies to stop the free scoring Academy lads from Fadama.

Immediately after the game, the coach of the academy, Mark Agbo, stated that his boys played like a team and he was happy with the results.

“Though we used the second string team in this encounter, it will help them to restore their confidence in the game as well as future matches. We will keep trying them this way; it is not like the game is not important to us. Even before the game the entire playing body was happy with the plan,” he stated. He, however, paid gratitude and acknowledged his guest, contending that “this is basketball and we are in the same academy’s league. Despite the defeat they suffered from us, they have shown that hey are a stronger team than us. “I think we have different ways of reading games, we were with our second team. You can see how the Aca boys were running us on the offensive, but, thank God, we came back strongly to win the game,” said Coach Agbo.

The outstanding players in the game were John Mensah and Paul Rock Ekpe from Vikings who made sure they picked all the rebounds in their defence. On the other hand, the head coach of Accra Academy, Owusu, noted that his side lost to a very wonderful side and, therefore, must move on to win the rest of their games to meet up with them,
