Exposed: NDP plots to ditch Mahama

Barely 66 days ahead for Ghanaians to decide at the polls who should lead the nation in 2013, The Tide's intelligence team has intercepted a strictly classified detailed account of how the Rawlingses intend to scuttle the electoral fortunes of the NDC and send the party into opposition.

The document captioned 'Why The NDP', issued on August 6, 2012, exposes the agenda for he formation of the National Democratic Party (NDP), a party that is linked with the Rawlingses and their bedfellows.

It contains details of how the NDP intends to crush the NDC when it is pushed into opposition.

In terms of policies, programmes, corruption and thievery, the NDC is no different from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), but the other smaller parties do not have the clout to lead the nation.

It is these objectives and situations on the ground that has provided the NDP the raison d' etre to venture into the political arena as the salvation force to redeem the nation.

According to the document, “whether we like it or not the NDP is here to save Mother Ghana”.

The two page document however concluded without a paragraph on the horrific legacy the Rawlingses bequeathed to Ghanaians during their two decades grip of the nation.

The document revealed that in the strict sense of a political party, the NDC is peculiar and generally perceived as a congress that came to being on the spur of the June 4th Uprising even though its members came from the mainstream political parties.

It stated the NDC has survived mainly due to the Rawlings' factor stressing that the mainstay of the NDC is the Rawlings factor.

According to the NDP, the premeditated attempt at whittling down the Rawlings' factor with both named and unnamed power blocks within the NDC is the key factor to destabilize the NDC.

The several and varied attempts at sidelining the Rawlingses have created more problems for the NDC than it can handle.

These have forced the NDC to its knees, reeling badly and risking the inevitable implosion, the document revealed.

The NDP listed six reasons that have prompted the Rawlingses to deploy every arsenal at their disposal to push the NDC into opposition.

The document stated that over 88 per cent of the NDC polling stations and branches have ceased to exist since 2008, the new NDC organizational structure has ceased to include the branches, absolute disregarded and branches of the party's constitution with impunity, the unbridled mass rush for appointments by party office holders at all levels has brought the NDC to its knees, among others.

The NDP noted that key figures in the NDC know how precious Rawlings is to the NDC and government but have failed to take appropriate steps to resolve the issues at stake and are rather interested in occupying their offices and being awarded protocol allowances.
