TP Mazembe midfielder Gladson Awako feels the 3-1 win over the Dream Team in the 2015 Mo Ibrahim Cup match serves as good preparations for the club ahead of their participation at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Congolese giants will be representing Africa at the World Cup which kicks off on December 10 in Japan following their CAF Champions League success.

TP Mazembe were in Accra over the weekend to play against a local select side – an amalgamation of players drawn from the domestic league – as part of activities marking the 2015 Mo Ibrahim Annual Governance Weekend.

Patrice Cateron’s side prevailed 3-1 in a game which saw the return of Gladson Awako who has returned from injury.

The talented midfielder lauded the organization of the friendly match and believes it will serve as good preparation for TP Mazembe ahead of their Club World Cup campaign.

“It is a good exercise for us as we prepare for the Club World Cup,” he said.

“This is the best the nation has to offer and they really gave us a good run for our money.”

TP Mazembe will be joined by their peers from Europe, South America, Asia and the Carribeans for the World Cup which kicks off next month.
