Don't worried about opposition lies -Akomea

Accra, April 30, GNA- The Minister of Information, Nana Akomea has asked members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be perturbed by lies and allegations intended to discredit the government by its opponents.

He said Ghanaians had seen the good work of the NPP government and it is committed to improve upon the lives of the citizenry.

He has therefore expressed the hope that come December 2004 the government would retain power to continue its pragmatic policies. Nana Akomea was speaking at the University of Ghana Legon to induct into office new elected executives of the Legon branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy of the NPP (TESCON).

Present at the ceremony was the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Mr Isaac Amo. He donated a computer and its accessories worth of 9.5 million cedis to the TESCON. He again presented a cash of 2.5 million cedis towards the running of the confederacy.

The Deputy Minister of Information, Mr Andrews Awuni urged the students to rally behind the government to better the lot of Ghanaians. He said the NPP government was committed to developing the talents of the youth for national development.
