Commentary - God Exposes Otabil!!!

Pastor Mensa Otabil, one of the haters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), must be a very worried man.

We are not in the skull of Mensa Otabil, but we can confidently say that the man is suffering from a rare form of cognitive dissonance or a state of psychological conflict.

It is said that, “when you throw a ball against a wall, it bounces back at you”.
Mensa Otabil has spent too much time hating the NDC, and he is now stewing in his own poisonous juice.

Mensa Otabil thought he was “doing” the NDC but he has woken up to the strong realisation that he has dug a grave for his NPP party.
In our last Frontpage Comment, we had occasion to take Mensa Otabil on, for his nauseating hypocrisy and how his silence on the ethnocentric statements emanating from the NPP is doing his image no good.
We listened to Reverend Kofi Okyere, struggling on Hot FM trying to defend his boss, but the more he spoke, the more he exposed the confusion in his head.
Indeed, The Informer believes that after Kofi Okyere’s disastrous performance, the Church decided to issue a listless Press Statement and behave like Karbo, hiding behind the press statement.
Is Mensa Otabil saying that he made the statement “several years ago?” Where “several years” means what?
Can’t they give us the exact year(s)?
The inability of the Church to give us the exact year speaks volume of the confusion in the head of Mensa Otabil and his assigns.
So if the statement was made “several years ago”, is Otabil saying it is not his voice?
Otabil has been preaching for decades; is he saying that he does not repeat his sermons for emphasis?
Or, is it the case that after every year, Otabil uses different type of bible?
The fact is that, Otabil believes in God and has continued to preach the message of SALVATION for decades.
So if the SALVATION message of Otabil has not changed over the decades, is he saying that his position on “`FREE EDUCATION’ has changed after “several years?”
Does Otabil believe in Free Education or not?
We would wish a yes or no answer and not some worthless press release which only worsens the plight of Otabil.
Come on Pastor Otabil: please stop making a mockery of yourself and the God you worship and preach.
Otabil has been caught in his own web of extreme partisan politics, and The Informer does not feel sorry for him at all.
The man has been engaged heavily in NPP partisan politics, but has been succeeding in hiding himself behind the pulpit.
Because of whatever stature he has built for himself, it was easy for Otabil to hide behind his pulpit while engaging in deep-rooted NPP partisan politics.
The game is up for Otabil and it is very interesting watching him summersault all over the place, trying to recreate his damaged image.
Does Otabil remember the story of Jonah and the whale?
We are told that; “whether Jonah swallowed the whale or the whale swallowed Jonah, there was a SWALLOW”.
In like manner; “whether Otabil condemned free education 100 years ago or he condemned it yesterday, there has been a CONDEMNATION”.
Otabil is so blinded by his deep-hatred for the NDC so much so that he has refused to appreciate the “little” things that the PNDC/NDC did for him.
There may be some good reason why Otabil hates the NDC, but as a man of God, is he not supposed to forgive and forget?
Has Otabil forgotten how he got that prime land on the mortuary road to build his church?
In those days, without the help of Government, there was no way Otabil could have gotten that land.
Yet, Otabil has continued to show ingratitude to the NDC.
We are not surprised that Otabil is now paying for his ingratitude.
The bible frowns upon ingratitude and so we are not surprised that God is exposing the ingratitude of Mensa Otabil.
Yes; Otabil is paying for his gross ungratefulness towards the NDC.
Mensa Otabil is just waiting for Nana Akufo-Addo to become President so that he (Otabil) will be appointed to many Boards as happened in the days of ex-President John Kufuor.
Otabil knows that Akufo-Addo is not the “Best” man to lead Ghana but is working for the NPP to win the elections.
But because God’s ways are neither our ways nor His thoughts our thoughts, Mensa Otabil’s agenda is falling into the dark pit.
As Bob Marley has it in one of his lyrics “Whosoever diggeth a pit shall fall in it”.
Mensa Otabil thought he was digging a pit for the NDC but has fallen into his own pit and The Informer does not feel sorry for him at all.
There is no way Otabil can run away from what he had said, and whether he likes it or not, history would have it on record that he does not believe in free education.
Indeed, for a person who collects billions of cedis by way of school fees from the students who attend his Central University College, how can he be a proponent of free education?
At least, Otabil has not said whether the voice was manufactured.
The voice is Otabil’s, and no amount of press releases and PR aerobatics from Reverend Kofi Okyere will change the fact that Akufo-Addo’s FREE SHS promise is big 419; and that Mensa Otabil knows it for a fact that, the NPP flagbearer is a gargantuan LIAIR who is LYING to Ghanaians because he wants to become President “AT ALL COST”.
