Chinese Veep lays wreath at Kwame Nkrumah mausoleum

Accra (Greater Accra), 27 Jan. '99 -

The visiting Chinese Vice -President Mr Hu Jintao yesterdday said the Chinese will continue to cherish the memory of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah for his outstanding work in bringing Ghana and China together. Mr Hu Jintao, who was speaking after laying a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum said Dr Nkrumah and Chairman Mao Tse Tung founded and fostered the current continuing good relationship between Ghana and China. Mr Hu at the head of a 30- man delegation is on a three-day official visit to the country. He was accompanied by the Vice-President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills and conducted round by Dr Don Arthur, Director of the Mausoleum. Mr Hu said he hoped the good relationship existing between the two countries will continue in unity and peace and commended Dr Arthur for his detailed commentary on the exhibits at the mausoleum.
