Rahim Ayew who is brother of Swansea City player Andre Ayew says the forward is currently undergoing treatment in France with an aim of playing for his country in their 2017 AFCON qualifier.

Andre missed his side’s 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth with an ankle injury he picked up in training.

The Black Stars deputy skipper has been a hit since joining struggling Swansea with 8 goals and two assist this season.

He has however been unable to kick a ball in the past week with growing concerns that he might miss Ghana’s all important AFCON 2017 qualifier against Mozambique.

But his brother Rahim says the former Marseille man is determined to be part of the game later this month.

“It’s really not that a deep injury but he feels pains and that is why he has flown to France to get it sorted out,” Rahim told Accra based Citi-FM

“He wants to play for Ghana so I will not be surprised if he gets it sorted out and return in time for the game against Mozambique.”

Black Stars Coach Avram Grant is expected to name his squad for the game today with Ayew’s inclusion keenly anticipated.
