Deputy skipper of the Black Stars Andre Ayew has called on Ghanaians to forgive prodigal son Sulley Muntari after writing a formal apology to the Ghana Football Association over happenings at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The former AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder sent a letter of apology to the Ghana FA following his scuffle with Black Stars Management Committee member Moses Armah during the Mundial.

Many have argued that Muntari wants to take advantage of the Black Stars’ qualification to the 2017 Afcon in Gabon, hence his decision to apologise.

But the Swansea City star says Ghanaians must forgive Sulley since he has officially apologised.

“Muntari is like a big brother to me. I have not read anywhere that he wants to come back into the Black Stars. All I have seen is that he is apologising.

“And I think Ghanaians should forgive him since he has apologised,” Andre Ayew said during a ceremony to crown him the 2015 SWAG Sports Personality and Footballer of the year.
