Africa's leading education and soccer centre of excellence, Right to Dream Academy (RtD) has appointed ace broadcaster and branding consultant Yaw Ampofo Ankrah as the academy's media and communications manager. The Supersport reporter has also been working with children and the youth for several years as the Navigator of Books and Boots.

Founded in 1999, the centre situated at old Akrade in Akosombo also holds the proud record as the first fully residential soccer Academy for girls in Africa following expansion in 2014.

The Founder of the RtD Academy Tom Vernon was instrumental in securing the services of Ampofo Ankrah. The two have a working relationship dating back to 2011 when Tom Vernon was firming up foundations of the Academy. This appointment means Ampofo Ankrah will be spearheading all media related events of the academy as it enters a new phase of partnerships and expansion in Ghana, Africa and Europe.

Ampofo Ankrah has already started his tenure with a mini tour of players and officials in Accra as they presented five trophies the academy won in Europe to major sports stakeholders. The team made stops at the office of Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah, Sports Minister Dr. Mustapha Ahmed and the Director General of the National Sports Authority Mr. Joe Kpenge.

Tullow Oil has been instrumental in the provision of technical expertise, world class training pitches and support of adequate infrastructure that has propelled the Academy to its current status as one of Africa's top centres of education and sports excellence.

The academy plans to host major sports, education and youth development stakeholders to a number of tours of their premises between now and the close of 2015.
