Amissah-Arthur mourns late LT Colonel E K T Donkor

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has joined hundreds of mourners at the burial service of the late LT Colonel EKT Donkor at Badu in the Tain District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Some few weeks ago Vice President payed a glowing Tribute to the late Lt Col Enoch Kwame Tweneboah Donkor (rtd) a former chief of Staff in the PNDC when the chiefs and people of Badu called on him at the Presidency to officially inform government about the demise of the Late Lt Colonel E K T Donkor.

President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur described the late Lt Col EKT Donkor (rtd) good friend, brother and colleague who he had the opportunity to work with from the PNDC days and NDC days, describing him as very humble and forthright personality who served his nation very well in all the capacities that was assigned to him.

He described his death as a great loss to the country serving the nation in various capacities, especially his dedicated service to the nation. Vice President Amissah–Arthur described his death as a big loss to the nation and the NDC fraternity.

He said the region has lost a great man who was very humble and excelled in the positions he held.

He said he held several appointments. Some of these appointments including ; Chief of Staff, former deputy interior minister interior minister, Ambassador the chairman of the Conference of Heads of Ghana’s Mission Abroad and former Minister for Defence from 1999 to January 7, 2001.

Accompanying the Government delegation includes; Defence Minister Dr Benjamin Kumbour, Local Government Minister, Hon Collins Dauda, Ghana's Ambassador to Cote,d,Voire and former Chief of Defence Staff General Augustine Blay, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Hon Eric Opoku and the General Secretary of the NDC Hon Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

On behalf of the government they donated assorted drinks and and an undisclosed amount of money to the family.

He passed away on Wednesday 13, July 2016 at the age 77.

Kwasi Agyemang Gyan-Tutu the Member of Parliament for the Tain constituency was also present.

The funeral was held at the Badu Methodist Church Park
