Akufo-Addo's election is good omen for NPP

Kumasi, Dec. 31, GNA - The Ashanti Regional branch of the Nasara Club of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday congratulated Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo for being elected as presidential candidate of the Party for election 2008.

A statement signed by Mr. Hamidu Ibrahim, the Regional Secretary and issued in Kumasi, said Nana Akufo-Addo's election was a good omen for the NPP in view of the crucial role he had played over the years in the Party's development and the nation in general. It commended the delegates for their matured and fair-minded manner in which they voted for the rightful presidential candidate and hoped Nana Akufo-Addo would work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.

The statement further congratulated the other presidential aspirants, especially Mr. Alan Kyerematen for conceding defeat and pledging their full support for the winner, stressing that such attitude was good for internal party democracy.

The club called on supporters and sympathizers of the NPP to bury their differences and rally behind the presidential candidate to enable him to chalk a resounding victory in the December 2008 elections.
