Akufo-Addo Rushes To London For Medical Checkup!

The Ghanaian Lens knows it for a fact that Akufo-Addo, the NPP’s flagbearer made a quick and rather quiet dash to London last week.

The question is; did he dash to London for a quick medical checkup as is being bandied around by some members of the NPP who are worried that Akufo-Addo may be suffering from some debilitating ailment of some sort?

The fuelling of the concern is because under normal circumstances, Akufo-Addo’s aides, in their desperate attempt to draw public attention to the NPP flagbearer’s activities, would have issued a statement announcing Akufo-Addo’s departure.

If Akufo-Addo left town on a positive note, the likes of Herbert Krampah would have been very swift in making the country believe that his boss is embarking on a busy tour.
Indeed, when going to church is a normal Sunday activity, Akufo-Addo’s aides made a lot of noise when Akufo-Addo recently attended a church service that is why lots of questions are arising out of the manner in which Akufo-Addo crept out of town to London.

Indeed, were Akufo-Addo going out for party political work, The Daily Guide and The Daily Searchlight (which is now being edited by Gabby Otchere-Darko and Sammy Awuku after Ken Kuranchie got involved in an accident), would have run screaming stories announcing the NPP flagbearer’s departure.

According to The Ghanaian Lens’s scouts in London, Akufo-Addo kept a rather low profile in London which is very unusual of the NPP flagbearer.

Indeed, there is no record of Akufo-Addo having met with NPP executives or supporters in London.

Going to London with no major political activity on the agenda, is what has given rise to the speculation among some NPP supporters that their flagbearer may have quietly slid out of town to go and have a quick medical review.
It would be recalled that in the run-up to the 2008 general elections, and amidst heavy accusation that Akufo-Addo had some drug related health problems, the NPP flagbearer dropped his dentures during a campaign tour in Takoradi.
Specifically at the GAPOHA Club House in Takoradi, Akufo-Addo dropped his dentures when addressing party supporters.

And it is the dropping of the dentures that lent a lot of credence to Akufo-Addo’s supposed addiction to hard drugs because tooth loss is one of the downsides of persistent use of hard drugs.

Apart from wearing dentures, Akufo-Addo is known to have some other health problems which The Ghanaian Lens is not prepared to put out per the rules of ethical journalism.

Indeed, Akufo-Addo’s constant campaign in the evenings and at night during the 2008 campaign period, is supposed to be drug related.
According to medical experts, junkies find it very difficult to operate under the sun.

It is therefore not surprising that when Professor Atta Mills was busy walking in the sun meeting with, traders, fisherfolk, drivers, porters, mechanics and ordinary people, Akufo-Addo kept moving around with heavy motorcade and meeting NPP supporters in the night.

If it is the case that Akufo-Addo is not well, The Ghanaian Lens wishes him a speedy recovery just as we wish Ken Kuranchie a speedy recovery as he recuperates from his accident.
