Agave Youth Complain About Poor State Of Roads

Accra (GAR), June 23, The Agave Youth Association has expressed concern over the deteriorating conditions of roads in the Volta Region, especially the Sogakope -Adaklu-Ho trunk road. Mr. Edwin Aklobortu, national president of the association who said this at a meeting of the association yesterday said recent rains have worsen the situation by widening existing potholes and creating new ones. He said the association appreciates efforts being made by the government and other agencies to improve roads in the country but stressed that priority must be given to the Accra -Aflao trunk road which links Ghana to Togo and other countries. The meeting discussed projects being financed by the Association in the Agave traditional area and members were advised to pay their special levies and other contributions regularly and promptly. Mr. Gabriel Atsu, National general secretary of the Association, urged the National executive to help sustain the self-help spirit among members through organised activities at the local branch levels. He appealed to members to visit home regularly to inspire those at home who are offering communal labour on their projects.
